Whether hiking in the woods, watching wildlife or hunting, your "human scent" (even without deodorant and cologne) can scare away the local wildlife.
Scent blocks or scent blockers are sprays or lotions to camouflage your scent from animals.  Deer, elk and other animals rely on highly developed senses of smell to alert them to danger. Camouflaging your scent will decrease the chance of disturbing/spooking wildlife in the area.
The following products are provided for our outdoor friends who wish to mask their scent in a way that will "wash off" when they return home!
Because our soy-base is mixed with ingredients that aid complete absorption, we've found this to be a wonderful product through which essential oils and masking scent can be applied.  Our lotions and creams contain no alcohol or mineral oil and are all paraben free!  (means your hands are not left slick or greasy)

When it comes to making your own scent blocker, red cedar is one of the best choices. Red cedar, also known as juniper, has a fresh woodsy scent and odor-fighting qualities.  Cedar has anti-bacterial qualities which prevents odor associated with sweating.
How to make your own:
1.  Collect several branches of red cedar.  Strip the needles off the branches.  (need approx 1 gallon of needles)
2.  Put needles in a stockpot, adding water to cover them.  Bring to boil on high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer on low for 2 hours.
3.  Remove the pot and allow to cool completely.
4.  Put a strainer over a large bowl and strain out the needles (discard needles).
5.  Using the funnel, pour the cedar water into a spray bottle.
6.  When you head out hunting, use the spray liberally on yourself and all clothing.

This spray can also be added to a fragrance free lotion and applied liberally to skin surfaces.
